Last fews days of the current layout. If you loved this layout as much as we did, come on down and enjoy the last few race and practice days before she meets the Bobcat.

Reminder, OC/RC will be closed on Monday 3/14 and probably Tuesday 3/15 depending on how long it takes to break up the concrete surface :).

TLR Series round 4 went GREAT! With the exception of me flipping out in my truck race while I was wired on Sudafed!

Thanks to all of you for spending the day at the trac k.

After racing next Sunday we will be tearing it up and building a fresh layout.

We will be closed on Monday 3/14 and probably Tuesday 3/15 (Stay tuned)...

Well it's March 1st so in keeping with tradition, it is Mustache March at OC/RC Raceway. Let's make Tom Selleck and Mr. Pringle proud and let's see some stache's at the track this month. The best stache at the end of the month will have, well, the best stache. Good times.

Round 3 of the TLR Points Series was a great one! The battles are really starting to take shape and some new front runners have emerged.

We had 130 entries yesterday so the series has grown a bit eventhough the majority of the TLR team was at the Nitro Challenge. This is great to see as series will sometimes drop off after the 1st week. We thank all the racers for making this series an awesome one so far.

Happy President's day. OC/RC is open today with its regular schedule so if you have the day off, come get in some practice.

We had a slightly bigger turn-out yesterday for Round 2 of the TLR Winter Points Series with 16 packed heats!

Thanks to all the racers for being on your game and helping the program run so smoothly. We were done by 9 PM.

Happy Valentine's day! Round 1 of the Series is in the Books! We had a great turn-out with 15 heats and 120 entries. It was a perfect size event as our racers were able to run more than one class without being too rushed and without those dreaded 3 plus hour waits between races.

OC/RC will be open this Super Bowl Sunday with the game playing on the Big Screens! No need to miss a day of racing for a silly Football game. Come on out and have some fun. OC/RC will be BBQ'ing Hot Dogs and will have some snacks as well. Should be tasty.

The new SX Track is open as well so if you run 2wd open wheel, you can have some fun between races too.

This track is tons of fun for mini's too so bring them out and give it a try. You will dig the pump track style layout.

The new Nick Black designed layout is up and running! OC/RC opens at 12PM today so head on out the track and start tackling our latest masterpiece.

The new track is very open and flowing with plenty of hits and a sweet downhill whoops section to keep you honest. We know you guys are going to dig this one. See you at the track!

OC/RC Raceway is expanding to two, that's right two Off-Road Tracks! The new track will be where the Rock Crawling course was located. The dimension will be 70' by 30' deep. This new track will be exclusively for open wheeled two wheel drive vehicles.

The purpose of this track is to give the 2 wheelers an old school style track where they can get clean practice in without having to contest with the larger 1/8th scale vehicles and Short Course trucks.

We are counting on you two wheelers to make this track as successful as the big track.

Of course you can still run on the big track and we will still race 2wd on the big track. We will post a schedule soon so stay tuned!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the OC/RC racers!

We had a huge turn out last night with 14 full heats. R/C's first family Adam and Rhonda Drake made it out and both did very well and seemed to be having a great time at our facility. We hope you guys visit us more often.

This is the last weekend to run the current layout. We are closed on Monday as Joey C will be stopping by with his Magic Bobcat to create another awesome Track design. If you love this layout as much as we do, come on out this weekend and get in your final laps.

Great night of racing last night!80 Entries and 18 teams competing in what I believe we will call in the future..."The Great Smack Down Series"

Even though we only have 18 teams competing it has been great to see guys working together and cheering each other on

We will have the Team Cup at the track next week, the winners of the series will have their names engraved (Kinda like the Stanley Cup) and will be proudly displayed at the track with your mug shots next to it!

We will be running a team point series 4x per year and your team will be competing for the coveted cup!

Another awesome weekend at OC/RC Raceway. The new track is a huge hit with our racers and the turn-outs are proof. OC/RC saw 282 entries this week alone!

Thanks everyone for supporting your local raceway. We are seeing a lot of new people and more importantly, we see alot of people smiling and really having a great time. This makes all the hard work truly worth it.

Wednesday Team Race Series Starting Wednesday, October 27th 2010

Teams need to Consist of 2 Racers and Will Require the Following:

1. Team Name
2. 2 Separate Classes to be raced (1 Driver in 1 Class, 2nd driver Different Class)
3. $10, 1 Time only, Buy-in Fee (Normal Club Racing Fees Still Apply)
4. Must Run 6 Out of The 8 weeks in The Series (2 Throw Out Races)
All The Money Put Into the Pot Will Be Paid Back With OCRC Matching The Amount (If There is $100 in The Pot OCRC Will Also Add $100 Dollars In)
1st Will Receive 50%
2nd Will Receive 30%
3rd Will Receive 20%

The Points
1. A First Place Finish Will Receive 100 Points, Second Will Receive 99 Points and So On.
2. There Will Be an Additional Point Added For Attendance For Each Team Member For a Total of 2 Points Per Night For the Team Showing Up.
3. The Points From Each of The Team Members Will Be Added at The End of Each Night For The Teams Total Points.

OC/RC would like to thank all of you for coming out last night! It was a record breaking Wednesday night with 97 entries!

The program went smooth with Nick at the helm and we finished up with the 10 mains by 11:20.

Special thanks to Joey Christensen for building one of if not the sickest layouts we have ever had. It seemed like everybody had a great time and loved the track.

I would also like to thank the boys from AE, Losi, OFNA and Pro-Line for showing up in force!

We will be closed on Monday 10/4. Joey Christensen will be doing the layout design and the build! If its like any of his other tracks it should turn out awesome!

With a sad heart we say 'so long for now' today to Kody Kessler, aka "Bluetooth". Kody was killed in a tragic car accident yesterday in Westminster, Ca.

Kody was a great kid to spend time with at the track. I first met him back in the So Cal Raceway days. He was always extremely happy, up beat and positive. He always had a smile on his face which help him gain his nickname thanks to So Cal race announcer "Slim".

Jared Tebo was the big winner on the day taking home 2 event main wins in Mod 4 wheel and Mod 2 wheel. Great work, Jared! Cavalieri took the win in Pro Mod Truck and Kortz was untouchable in Expert 1/8th scale.

All in all, the best weekened of racing our Track has ever seen. Thanks to Pro-Line, Team Losi, and all our Sponsors for an awesome event! Can't wait for 2011.

The Surf City Classic is quickly approaching so this is the month to get in some serious track time and to sharpen those skills for OC/RC's biggest race of the year.

Fun night of racing last night and a great Wednesday turn-out. Note; If you are 40 or older we have a fun new class know as "Pro 40" (emphasis on 40, not on Pro).

This class consists of the old-timers running open Short Course Trucks. Most of the Trucks are rockin running lights to enhance the experience and also the entertainment value.

So, if you are north of 40 and want to race but haven't jumped into it yet, we now have the class for you. Come on out and give it a try, no AARP card required.

You asked and we listened. Saturday Night Racing is coming to OC/RC Raceway! Starting this Saturday, July 24th 2010. Racing will start at 6pm and if you are a first time racer, come enjoy your first race, on the house! That's right, Free of charge!

OC/RC members race for only $15 and can run 2 classes and non-members are just $20 and can race up to 2 classes as well.

You read it right, the 2nd class is Free for all Saturday racers to help promote our new race night.

We will run the new Saturday Night Racing until the end of summer unless we maintain over 30 entries a week. If so, it will be run indefinitely so if you like the idea of Saturday Night Racing, come on out and join us so we can permanently add this to the OC/RC Race schedule.

As many of you may already know one of our local drivers lost his 3 year old Son Friday night in a tragic car accident. We are taking up a collection all week to help the family.

Next Friday nights race (June 4th) will be dedicated in Alex's memory and all the proceeds will be given to the family, so please come out and show your support for one of our own.

The OC/RC Sunday Series kicks off this Sunday with the doors opening and 12 PM and Racing beginning at 3 PM.

OC/RC Raceway will also be showing the Superbowl on all the big screens at the track and will have the audio from the game playing on the PA System.

To celebrate the big game we will be providing Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Chips, all on the house! Come on out and join this awesome event and take in the game as well.

We hope you are all enjoying the new and bigger off-road race track and layout. Entries are up so we are confident our racers are loving it.

OC/RC will be hosting a Christmas Charity Event 12.13.09. The Cause: "His Nesting Place" http://www.hisnestingplace.org/

A home for women and their children who have been abused, and or are pregnant and have chosen to continue their pregnancy rather then to terminate it.

The cost: $10.00 per class plus 1 unwrapped gift for a child or a mom. We know times have been a bit tough on everybody but now is the time to step up and show that the R/C community cares! We will open the doors at 9AM and racing will start at 12PM. We promise this will be a fun and rewarding event for all of us. The Moms and the kids will be here to cheer you on!

OC/RC Raceway is closed today and tomorrow as we undergo major 'track surgery'. The new layout will be ready for Wednesday night racing so get your gear ready and come on out for the unveil of the awesome new expanded off-road track.

OC/RC Raceway will be tearing down the wall this week and the carpet is officially gone. We will have normal hours all week even with the build and new clay arriving.

Note, we will be closed on 11/23 and 11/24 for the Track rebuild so we will not miss any racing! Come on out and give the OG Layout a run before we go Big!

November 6th 2009

HUGE NEWS! OC/RC Raceway will be undergoing some massive changes in the next couple of months. The bad news is the Carpet on-road track and program will be going away.

We realize this will hurt some of our regulars but unfortunately, there was simply not enough racers and participants to keep the program alive.

However, when one door closes, another door opens! OC/RC will be tearing down the giant HPI wall that currently separates the two tracks and will be expanding the off-road track! The new layout will be 62 feet deep and 125 feet wide.

We expect to have the expansion completed by Xmas 2009 and we will have very minimal downtime during the construction process. We may need to shut down the off-road track for a day or two when we finalize construction however, no race days will be affected. We will keep you posted on the dates as we progress on the new track.

The drivers stand will also be expanded to 50' as well to accommodate the new track size.

RACE ALERT: The Battle for the Bird!

OC/RC Raceway will be hosting a Thanksgiving race and Turkey giveaway. That's right, we giving away a full Thanksgiving Turkey to the winner of each A-Main event.

The race will be held on Friday, November 20th 2009 during our regular Friday night racing program. Forget bringing home the hardware for a night, and bring home a Bird instead (stuffing not included)!

XMAS SHOPPING ALERT: OC/RC Raceway and Hobbies is offering a XMAS Layout Program to help you kick off the R/C Shopping Season. Stop by the Hobby Shop and order your new kit or race goodies and put just 10% down. You can make payments so you have the new dream kit in time for XMAS. We feel this will really help all of racers who are on a budget (basically all of us :)

Track Rebuild Update! OC/RC Raceway has completed the new off-road layout which has been dubbed 'Nick's Scary Farm'.

The new layout is the wildest design OC/RC has created to date and is receiving rave reviews from our allegiance of racers.

Come on out and give the new track a try. We are open for practice today and will host Friday night racing tomorrow. See you at the track!

Track Rebuild Update! OC/RC Raceway will be rebuilding the entire Off-Road track this coming Sunday night and Monday, October 19th. We will be closed for the day on Monday while the team shovels away on the newest creation. We will re-open on Tuesday, October 20th 2009 so come on out and give the new track a run.

OC/RC Raceway will be closed on Monday, September 21st 2009 for off-road track maintenance. Please share this will your fellow racer's.

We will be making a few changes to the current layout and will open back up on Tuesday, September 22nd 2009. Come on out and run some packs.

Also, OC/RC will now be streaming all club racing Mains to YouTube so when you get home
and want to watch your main you will be just a few clicks away! How sick is that ? It's like ESPN's Sports Center for R/C.
