"SLASH-A-PALOOZA RACE - JANUARY 17th 2009"

OC/RC hosted the 1st Annual Slash-a-Palooza 5 hour marathon race this weekend and the event went incredibly smooth.

A huge Thank you to all the teams for participating in this exclusive event. After 5 hours of battling, wrenching and adjustments, Team Helmet outshined the rest and took the win with an unfathomable 594 laps! Team Helmet put 6 full laps on the rest of the field. Great teamwork guys. Team Xtreme RC and Banzai Nation filled out the podium spots. Visit the Results Page for to see how they fared.

Huge props to our resident Race Director Jeremy Felles for being a trooper though the event. We look forward to hosting the event again so keep an eye on the website for more info.

 

Slash

Each Team consists of 5 members (Drivers).

Each team member must drive for 1 hour of the race
(Minimum of ½ hour at a time).

2 members from each team to be utilized as turn marshals
For their team Slash ONLY.

Stop and go will be called for any Slash cutting the track.

Bumping is expected but intentional ruff driving will be subject
To lap deduction at the discretion of the race director.

All teams will receive 5 stock motors.

$250 per five man team, the winning team will receive $1000

 

OC/RC Raceway - Slash-A-Palooza rules:

Body: Any Traxxas Slash or Proline after market body is acceptable.

Chassis: No modifications can be made to the chassis system.
Side nerf bars, front and rear bumpers, skid plates and body
Mounts may not be removed or modified in any way.

Suspension: Both front and rear suspension systems must remain in stock
Form with the exception of aluminum shock caps as well as the use of nuts and washers on the shock screws.
Shock pistons must be used in the factory positions and may not be modified.
Spring preload may be adjusted using only supplied stock spacers.
Modifications to suspension arms, hub carriers, and related parts is not allowed.

Tuning Parts: Original Traxxas progressive WHITE shock springs may be used.
The following upgrade parts ARE legal for this race.

3632 Aluminum caster blocks
3652 Aluminum axle carriers
3743 Aluminum steering bell cranks
3139 Aluminum steering tie rods
3737 Aluminum camber links
2667 Aluminum shock caps

Steering System: No modifications can be done to the steering system.

Bearings: Any manufacturer bearing may be used.

Motor: Traxxas Titan 12T R/C Motor ONLY.

Electronics: Only Original RTR kit speed control (XL5)
and RTR servo may be used.
You may install any receiver you choose.
2 cell Lipos, 6 cell or 7 cell ni-cad or nmh batteries will be allowed.

Wheels: Original Traxxas Slash 2.2 wheels and tires only with no modifications.

Drive Line: Only the original drive train may be used.
Traxxas steel planetary gear diff only.
No gear locking devices or silicon permitted.
Any of the 3 Traxxas spur gears (4683, 4686, 8690) can be used.
Any pinion gear may be used as long as it can be installed without any modifications to the mount. Ball differentials are NOT permitted.

Weight: Slash weight can be no less then 4.75 pounds
